Rob,

Great review (and site / blog). I just bolted up my CCDB this past week and got it out on my "usual" local trail this weekend (4/22/08). Like you, I started at the factory defaults and immediately was amazed. And, like you, really no bob on the smooth fire road climb. Oh, BTW this is on my Terremoto too. I did let out (speed up) both the low speed compression and rebound by one click. This did, for me as well, make the shock even more plush over stutter bumps type terrain with out any real noticeable bob. Of course more experimentation is in order, as I've only got one ride on it. But I'll tell you, its night-and-day from the Fox DHX-A it replaced. VERY impressed.

I am interested on how you thought it compared to the avalanch chubbie shock you tested.

One thing I forgot to add...

The CCDB ended up making my air suspension up front seem really harsh. Once I switched out the air fork for the coil Lyrik, the bike felt much more balanced. Once the Lyrik gets the Push treatment...I expect the balance to get even better. Before the CCDB...the fork was one of the best performing parts on the bike.
