@Ony: I have had a lot of those phone calls and rides. My fiancee (wife in two weeks!) knows me well enough to not question those kinds of calls. Our house can be a lot happier with those rides.

@SS: I actually really liked it on the 55...specifically the adjustment for climbing, am and dh.

It's great that Zocchi is building a 29'r fork again but I don't have high hopes for it as it will, most likely, have the TST damping (as does the rest of the 44 line-up) which I wasn't all that impressed with in the current 55 series forks.

Great article, Robb. Just yesterday I had a pretty challenging and frustrating day at work. As I was leaving the office, bike on the rack, I called home and said "I had a horrible day at work, I'm going to the trail and I'm riding as hard as I can, for as long as I can to get all of this out of me before I come home." By the time I put the bike back on the rack to go home, I had, not only accomplished a big improvement in my riding that day (improved my "lap time" almost 2 minutes), but I had worked out all my problems from work, had a plan to handle things, could not wait to be with my family and was in total peace with the world. Two wheels moving my mind AND soul.

I've been waiting until I finally had one of those Zen moments to comment on this post... Yesterday, Big Creek... There were still a couple of spots that tripped me up, but I felt very much "in the zone." I hit my turns, had great speed (for me), and drove through uphills. It was one of the best rides I've had in a long time.

Awesome stuff.
