Exclusive Interview
Dave Turner of Turner Bikes
Yesterday, I had a great conversation with the man himself...Dave Turner. As many of you already know, it is a very exciting time for the guys over at Turner Bikes. They completely redesigned their entire line for 2009 to the DW-Link suspension.
Dave took some time out of his busy schedule to answer some of my questions before he gets ready to head to Interbike.

Here is a rundown of some of the questions...
- Tell us about your background, how did you get into building bikes?
- Where’s your favorite place to ride?
- What is the best part of your job?
- This year, you made the announcement that you were switching over to the DW-Link. What brought you to this decision?
- How is the response so far on the DW bikes?
- How do the DW bikes ride in comparison with the TNT bikes?
- You recently made a visit to Sapa. For the listeners that don’t already know...what is Sapa and can you describe what goes on there?

Excellent interview! I really want to try out one of his new DW bikes. According to Dave, his DW setup has been designed to have the “Turner” ride characteristics and I bet that would make the ride close to perfect for me.

@Roger: Can you handle the weight is the question? You could get a 5 Spot build down enough I think. The Turner ride quality is almost exactly what you are looking for in my opinion.

I’d like to throw my leg over one to see how a DW Spot or Sultan compares with what I’m used to. I can see the DW being a bigger impact on the 5″ and up bikes. I don’t feel that my TNT Sultan squats all that much on seated climbs and what it does do can be used. I really like the way Turner bikes climb techy rooty trails around here. That Boyd Gap climb where Alexis fell off the trail and the Bear Paw section are good examples of where the bikes shine.
