Saturday - Laurel Mountain in the morning and Black Mountain in the late afternoon
Meet at Sycamore cycles at 9 am

Sunday - Dupont State Forest

History of HIP by JNCarpenter:

Background info:
It started with THIS and THIS.
Then graduated to THIS.
This years PLAN.

What is HIP? An excuse for a bunch of riders with the same interest (Turner Bikes) that get together to ride some killer North Carolina single track. Most own Turners, some are former Turner owners and some are just along for the ride, but it originates on the Turner board of MTBR.com.

We had a great time last year and this year is set up to be just as good as the last.

Things to watch for on my blog over the next couple of days...

  • Full tour through the Industry Nine facilities
  • Ride reports and pictures from the trails listed above
  • Some industry talk among our local industry types that tag along (Cane Creek and Industry Nine)

Last year, Dave Turner was able to make the trip, but this year things are incredibly busy so there will be no west coast showing. Hopefully next year, the guys at Turner Bikes and Ventana Mountain Bikes will be able to make the trip.

There is one difference this year from last years...

We have a TON of shwag to give away and a Ventana El Fuego and Turner Highline are being raffled off to support the Pisgah Area SORBA chapter. Thanks goes out to Maxxis, CST, Cane Creek, Push Industries, Turner Bikes, Ventana Mountain Bikes USA, T2Bikes.com, Industry Nine and the other sponsors of this event.

Here are some pictures from last years event.

My name is Robb Sutton (aka.198)...the owner of MTB by 198. I have been involved with the sport ever since my first real mountain bike that I received as a Christmas present in 1995. Ever since then, I have been hooked (ok...obsessed) with the sport and the lifestyle. I started Mountain Biking by 198 as another outlet for my passion for the sport, but also as a way to capture its progression over time.
